How is it like falling in love after a heartbreak? How can anyone love again when you have been disappointed by the person you loved? You can be afraid or think that it would never happen again.

“The Bounce Back” is the new Shemar Moore’s project, a movie about all these feelings. Matthew Taylor, a psychologist, developed a strategy for their clients, who have been dumped, lied or cheated on, to put their lives back together. But he also suffered from a broken heart. The problem is that, meanwhile, he will find the perfect girl.

Shemar Moore started to make a campaign on Kicksterter and now he is on Indiegogo to raise money for the film, with the help from his fans and friends.

In a conversation with The Outsider Argentina, Shemar Moore spoke about his movie’s project and the campaign on Kickstarter and Indiegogo.

What is “The Bounce Back” about?

IThe Bounce Back is about heartbreak. It’s a tale about love, and tackling that fear to fall in love again after you’ve been let down, heartbroken and felt hopeless about it happening ever again. The story centers around a psychologist named Matthew Taylor who spends his life giving advice to his clients who have been dumped, lied to and cheated on. He has developed a strategy for them to put their lives back together, but what he has failed to understand is that it is this strategy that he hasn’t adhered to in his own life. You see, Matthew is suffering from a broken heart as well. So when Matthew meets the perfect girl, is he going to continue to live in fear of another heartbreak or is she so irresistible that he finally can’t help take the advice that he gives to his clients?

How did you come up with this idea?

My manager brought the script to me and I believed in this Matthew Taylor character so much that half way into the script, I was sold.

What can you tell us about the characters? Are they based in real life people?

There is definitely a little bit or even a lot of each of these characters in all of us. There’s probably not a person out there that hasn’t experienced the ups and downs that these colorful characters go through.

Have you ever been in a similar situation than Matthew Taylor?

I’ve definitely had my heart broken. I learned a great deal from the heart breaks that I’ve gone through in my life. And yes, I admit that after a heart break, it’s definitely harder to get back out there and trust people. And no matter how far you come as you move into the next chapter of your life, you’ll never forget how it felt the first time someone broke your heart.

How can people help to achieve your goal? Why did you decide to make a Kickstarter campaign?

Every little bit counts. If my fans and friends can pledge any amount, the collaborative effort should get us there. We now live in a time where fans can come together and fund a film. I think Kickstarter is a brilliant vehicle for this new stage in film funding and film making.

Which is the message from the movie?

The message of the movie is- Even though heartbreak may be the most difficult for someone to endure, in the end, you’ll see there was always good reason for that chapter in your life.

Which was the react from your fans when you told them about this project?

At first, fans were questioning why I was asking them to help fund a film project that I was involved in. But as we moved forward into the first few days of the Kickstarter campaign, they read about Kickstarter, they learned I was committed to matching the pledged funds and they immediately went from apprehensive to supportive. I love my fans and appreciate their love and support!
